Save the World

In a dying world on the brink of destruction, you play as a brave cat scientist tasked with stopping a giant asteroid.

But beware, things aren’t always what they seem. Can you save humanity… or will you discover a truth that changes everything?

No one forgot the day the asteroid was first spotted.
It was just a distant speck in the sky, but the calculations didn’t lie: in a few months, it would collide with Earth with enough force to destroy it completely.

Chaos came swiftly. Governments fell, cities were abandoned, and crowds fled to sewers and caves, desperately hoping stone and concrete would shield them from the inevitable.

Amid the collapse, a name began to circulate through radio transmissions and underground newspapers: Dr. Ian Felinus, a scientist of robotics and energy known for past aerospace projects, spoke of being the planet’s only hope and insisted everyone should support him.

The few remaining authorities and leaders pooled their last funds and resources to finance a single plan: build a vehicle capable of destroying the asteroid before impact.

The world clung to that promise like a miracle. But the path to launch was far from simple. The locations of the parts and technology needed had been abandoned and were now patrolled by security machines, robots programmed to eliminate intruders. Without human maintenance, they became relentless hunters.

That’s when Felinus found his most unlikely weapon: an old optical calibration tool, originally designed to align high-precision sensors. Due to a firmware glitch, when intense light hit the robots’ cameras directly, they froze temporarily. That “flashlight” became his defense.

With each step deeper into the shadows of the abandoned world, Felinus knew the stakes were higher than ever. Every flicker of light could mean survival, or the end of hope. But as he gathered the pieces needed for his mission, a troubling question lingered in the back of his mind:

What if saving the world wasn’t as simple as it seemed?

I like the art style. The main menu was cute. I liked the cat's gun too. The cat's gun gave me an old vibe, like from a cartoon. And the movements were nice.

Thank you for your comment! We acctually aimed for a gravity falls theme game!

I just finished the game. I have to say second level is way shorter than the first, but that's normal.

The polish is real here.

From graphics to many aspects of the game.

Tho i wish you had polished first the basics like movement and also the cursor seems kinda "cursed" lol, a black box.

But those shouldn't be hard fixes and overall the game is quality.

And it does have the twist in the end so it fits the theme.

Thank you so much for playing all the way through and for your feedback! Yeah, the second level ended up shorter than the first, but we thought it worked pacing-wise. I totally agree with you on the movement . ( The cursor bugs seems to happen in some browsers )

I actually made the movement system early on and only gave it a small adjustment right before the deadline, so it definitely could use more polish.

I’m really glad you noticed the twist at the end. Thanks again for your kind words and constructive feedback!

Nah i'm at the third level and the running robot is somehow giving me" backshots" while not harming me, and i'm stuck there perhaps in a kind of flying animation...

Third level has it seems some bumps which seem to affect player movement in an unnatural way.

Revising that would make the game way better.

Either erase the bumps, or program it so the player can step up automatically short height (typical stair movement code)

Overall very cool and polished, but yeah the movement could use more polish and if you do polish it then the game goes way higher, since movement is after all the main thing the player experiences all time...

Thanks a lot for pointing that out! Yeah, the third level still has some rough edges. The “backshot” bug with the running robot and the weird flying animation is something I’ll need to dig into if i want to take this project further!

I like your suggestion, that would definitely make the gameplay feel more natural. Really appreciate you taking the time to share this, it helps a lot!

You can sense there is a ton of work here.

It's usual in jams, but the movement could get some polish.

You may already know many games apply a gravity force or a kind of pull after jumps to make them feel less "floaty" i think that would help this game a ton and it's relatively easy to implement.

In any case very good project, tho i kinda got frustrated dying all the time to those flying robots, i didn't even know they can follow you (i tried ignoring one to "speedrun" the game lol).

Thank you so much! Yeah, you’re absolutely right, the movement could use more polish. Adding a stronger gravity pull after jumps is a great suggestion.

The flying ones were meant to add some extra challenge, but I can see how they can get frustrating. One for our errors was expecting players to understand that they can just "run"trough the phases if they find it hard to fight the enemies.

Really appreciate your feedback, glad you gave it a try!
